in a private lane in the pretty village of Portinscale, which
is on the north-westerley tip of Lake Derwentwater, is Rickerby
Grange. Now a ten bedroom country house hotel, it was originally
built at the turn of the century by a local farmer for his daughter.
It was, as its name implies, 'The Grange' to Rickerby House, which
is situated close by the village.
|
Set in its own gardens, Rickerby Grange
offers a friendly ambience in peaceful surroundings, overlooked
by Skiddaw, Cat Bells and Causey Pike. All areas of the Lake District
are easily accessed, making Portinscale the perfect base from
which to explore this magnificent corner of England.

by.
